S series of agreements that ended the thirty year war. Most commonly named for the region of Germany where the agreements where drafted. German princes know had the the freedom to choose their own religion, but the religious desires of individuals within the states were still not accepted. This was the first time that Calvinism was accepted as one of the religions. The representative at Westphalia conducted all these negotiations with an eye toward " balance of power".Added to timeline:
