mar 13, 1954 - Dien Bien Phu
Description:
A battle between the French and the Viet Minh, with the French attempting to gain control of the Indochina area. It was a massive military failure from the French. They had many opportunities to crush the Viet Minh, however they did not seize any of them. As a result of this, France lost to Vietnam.
This is important because it lead to the Vietnamese Declaration of Independence. Had this battle gone differently and France had won over the Vietnamese, then the Vietnam war may have never happened.
