nov 17, 27 BC - Pax Romana
Description:
Pax Romana latin for the peace of Rome.Pax Romana was an era of relative peace throughout the Mediterranean region under the Roman Empire that extended from the rule of Augustus to the reign of Marcus Aurelius. During that time, from 27 BCE to 180 CE, imperial policy allowed the provinces of the empire a degree of autonomy in exchange for Roman taxation and military control. Roman emperors during the Pax Romana generally focused on centralizing power rather than expansion of the boundaries of the empire.
