Description:

Union general George Mcclellan attacked Robert E. Lee and his forces hoping to push them out of Maryland. When Lee's army was on the run out side of Sharpsburg, where the battle happened, Mcclellan did nothing, even though his army was twice the size of Lee's. There were 23,000 casualties at the battle of Antietam.
