jun 19, 1566 - James I

Description:

James I was born June 19, 1566 in Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Scotland. He was the king of Scotland from 1567 to 1625. He was also the first Stuart king of England from 1603 to 1625. James I died March 27, 1625, in Theobalds, Hertfordshire, England. This makes him the first king of both England and Scotland at the same time, paving the way for a united kingdom. His era is called the Jacobean Era. He supported the Diving Right of Kings, something that would cause Charles I some trouble. The Gunpowder Plot happened during his reign. This caused him to oppress Catholics in England.
