mar 22, 1765 - The Stamp Act

Description:

The Stamp Act was the taxation on all paper goods, such as, letters and marriage licenses that were being exported from Great Britain to the Americas. The Stamp Act was important because Great Britain needed money to cover the war costs of the French and Indian war. To get that money Britain decided to put a heavy tax over the colonists. The primary source is the document what Great Britain wrote to the colonists about the new taxation and what the colonists response was.
