apr 16, 1628 - Religion

Description:

Religious tensions in England were prominent after the colonization of the New England colonies. Calvinism was the belief that God is all- knowing. Predestination was the thought that all souls are already predestined to be damned or saved and no one can do anything about it. Puritans were Calvinists who wanted to purify the Anglican church. They opposed the religious hierarchy of the Catholic and Anglican church and believed that religious authority came solely from the Bible- not leaders or anyone else.
