sep 5, 1774 - 1st Continental Congress

Description:

The 1st Continental Congress convined in Philidelphia in response to the Intolerable Acts. The Intolerable Acts were the last straw for the colonies and they wanted away from Britain and their oppressive taxes. There were 56 members of the Congress from all colonies sans Georgia. They drafted a declaration of rights that was put into place when the 2nd continental congress convened in 1776.
