/Eli Whitney invented the cotton Gin in 1793. It was one of the biggest inventions of the Industrial Revolution because, it allowed for there to be no hands used to physically pick out the seed from the cotton./ It separated the cotton fiber from it seed without there being any cuts or scratches upon the hand of the worker. It also made cotton profitable, tied it to the southern colony, and increased slavery.
