apr 22, 1570 - Middle Passage
Description:
The Middle Passage was the journey that the enslaved Africans had to endure. From West Africa to the New World, enslaved Africans were packed into tight ships, where there were horrific conditions and twenty percent of them died on the journey. They were packed tightly together on shelves and were even shackled. During the journey to the new world there were about ten percent of rebellions, where slaves would get together and try to escape. There were even some who sacrificed themselves as a rebellion.
