Description:
A Genoese seafarer who was committed to finding a westward route towards India, for better trade. His journey was backed by Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain in 1492. He sailed across the Atlantic sea while aboard the Santa Maria alongside the Nina and the Pinta ships. He landed in the Bahamas on his first voyage and Central and South America on his other voyages.
