Description:
For about 65 years, the British put the American Colonies under what is known as Salutary neglect. *What this meant was that the British left the colonies alone, letting them do, for the most part, as they pleased, like participating in the transatlantic slave trade.* The British would trade with the colonies, with the British sending more finished goods to the colonies than the colonies sent raw materials to the British. This left the colonies feeling a sense of equallness with the British.
