jul 14, 1556 - Columbian Exchange
Description:
By using the forced labor systems of encomienda and asiento, trade between the old and new world was able to explode. The Columbian Exchange was the interchanging of new things between the old and new world. This includes animals, plants, and even diseases. The modern-day result of this exchanging are things like chickens in the Americas, pineapple in Europe, and so on. This exchange also incentivized Europeans to continue oppressing the native population and importing black slaves to work the land.
