Description:
John Marshall was the Cheif Justice of the supreme Court when the case Marbury v. Madison happened in the very early 1800's . Because of the appointments from the Federalists under John Adams, right before his presidency ended, Marshall ruled that while Marbury, who had been appointed by John Adams, could keep his appointmennt, the Judiciary act of 1789 was unconstitutional, and established Judicial Review which allowed the Supreme Court to delare a law unconstitutional.
