dec 31, 1606 - Virginia

Description:

Virginia was a southern colony that was notable for starting off as the Virginia Company. "It was like Columbian Exchange because they both would involve trades and exchanges." The Virginia was a joint-stock company, so that they could setup settlements that could make profit. The reason that this was possible because they were located next to the Chesapeake Bay. The most notable of these settlements was the Jamestown settlement that was help founded by John Smith, and it was the first to be a permanent settlement set by the English.
