In June of 1992, Chris Hadfield, Julie Payette, Dave Williams, and Mike McKay were named Canada's new astronauts. They beat the odds, recieving the four spots being challenged by 5330 people. Their chances of being chosen were 0.07 percent! The CSA would not have another astronaut selection process for 16 years, until David Saint-Jacques and Jeremy Hansen were chosen in 2008.
