sep 1, 1541 - Back to Geneva
Description:
Calvin was invited back to Geneva where the Protestant revolution had become increasingly insecure. During his time away from the town, Calvin had taken the time to learn from chief pastor Martin Bucer about the administration of the urban church and had attended various international religious conferences. This acquainted him with other Protestant leaders and gave Calvin experience debating with Roman Catholic theologians, becoming a major figure in international Protestantism. Because of this new knowledge Calvin was also in a much stronger position when he returned to Geneva.
