jan 1, 1676 - Jamestown
Description:
In 1676, Bacon's rebellion led working-class men to burn down Jamestown. This act made indentured servitude look even less appealing to leaders residing in Virginia. Because servants were being set free, there was a need for slaves. Slaves were easier to identify because of their dark skin tone and would have to serve for life. Jamestown was when people started having the want for slaves. In simpler terms, it was the first spark that would lead to a new law being made.
