Also known as the Lisbon massacre, the Lisbon riot was a great massacre of Portuguese Jews that had been converted to Christianity. It all started when one Jew denied that he had seen the face of Jesus on the altar during a prayer. This made the Portuguese Catholics think that the Jews were the cause of the drought. Claiming that they were heretics and beginning a massacre where they dragged Jews out of their homes to kill them.Added to timeline:
