The first colourised film was called Cupid Angeling and was made on June 16th 1918. The film was made using Douglass Natural colour process. This film was revolutionary as it paved the way for the colour films that came afterwards.

If it weren't for colour in films today, they wouldn't be as immersive or interesting as filmmakers can do a lot with colour in movies such as set moods and themes, and without that you could be missing out on a lot of information.
