jan 4, 2071 - Hyper-Sonic Jammers
Description:
The Union developed hyper-sonic Jammers in 2071 in response to the development of hyper-sonic jets. The jammers were too big to be fitted onto aircraft, but could fit into a relatively small signal tower. The Jammers were proximity based and could detect aircraft up to 200 miles away. Once the aircraft was detected, the jammer sent out a disruptive signal that disabled the target aircraft hyper-sonic regulator which automatically shut the hyper engine off. The aircraft would abruptly decelerate to normal flight speed with no warning, and with improper deceleration procedure.
In some cases pilots would be knocked unconscious and their planes would crash, or pilots would be killed due to fatal G-Force endurance .
For all pilots that survived, they would most likely be intercepted by enemy aircraft waiting to ambush.
