Description:
Jamestown was one of the first important settlements in the New World. It was founded in 1607 and became a huge success as a producer of tobacco. This crop brought in a lot of revenue for this colony and had a lot of advantages after this tobacco explosion. More people came to the colony looking for jobs and the economy exploded. Because of the success Jamestown had, many other colonies started making tobacco their number one crop and made a lot of revenue. Key Concept 2.1, II.
