A number of chambers of commerce in Hong Kong welcomed the Government's amendments to the bill. The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce believed the government should add more protection, while the President of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association, Dennis Ng Ng, said the threshold for surrendering fugitives should be further raised , while The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce said the changes would help allay the concerns of the business community.
