Less than a month after the dedication of the first latter-day temple, Moses, Elias and Elija appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery. They granted the keys of their dispensations to the two men. Moses gave them the keys of the Gathering of Israel. Elias gave them the dedication of the Gospel of Abraham, telling them that “in us [Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery], and our seed, all generations should be blessed” (Doctrine and Covenants 110:12). Elias brought the Sealing Keys, so that they may “To turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the children to the fathers, lest the whole earth be smitten with a curse...”(Doctrine and Covenants 110:15). The restoration of these Priesthood Keys are vital in carrying out the work of the Lord.
