mar 10, 2019 - Revelation 18-19
Description:
The LAST verse of Revelation 18 in speaking about a city says this: 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
The City responsible for killing at least Peter & Paul and many saints was ROME.
Then immediately beginning in Revelation 19 we read of a Temple Dedication…
Revelation 19:1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
3 And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke (prayers) rose up for ever and ever.
4 And the FOUR AND TWENTY ELDERS and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, (represents the Temple) saying, Amen; Alleluia.
5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for THE MARRIAGE OF THE LAMB IS COME , and HIS WIFE HATH MADE HERSELF READY.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. (white Temple clothing)
9 And he saith unto me, Write, BLESSED ARE THEY WHICH ARE CALLED TO THE MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
So who were the FOUR & TWENTY and the FOUR BEASTS?
Revelation 19:4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
The footnote from this scripture takes you to the Topical Guide entry for cherubim. The bible dictionary entry for cherubim says: Figures representing heavenly creatures, the exact form being unknown. They are found in the Holy of Holies, on the Mercy Seat of the Ark (Ex. 25:18, 22; 1 Kgs. 6:23–28; Heb. 9:5), and in the visions of Ezekiel (Ezek. 10; 11:22). In the account of the Fall, cherubim are represented as keeping “the way of the tree of life” (Gen. 3:24).
That photograph depicts 24 apostles (the first 12 and the current 12), three prophets and Jesus Christ.
Temples are portals, or gateways, to the throne of God. God has always placed cherubim to keep and guard these sacred gateways. Consider this verse in that light:
2 Nephi 9
:41 O then, my beloved brethren, come unto the Lord, the Holy One. Remember that his paths are righteous. Behold, the way for man is narrow, but it lieth in a straight course before him, and the keeper of the gate is the Holy One of Israel; and he employeth no servant there; and there is none other way save it be by the gate; for he cannot be deceived, for the Lord God is his name.
Jesus Christ is the ultimate or chief cherubim - or guardian - of the gateway to the throne of God. And the First Presidency are the holders of those keys and responsibilities upon the earth today. They are to watch and guard and see that only those who are worthy enter the Holy Temples.
So if that interpretation is correct, then Jesus Christ and the 3 prophets at the center of the picture are the four cherubim (beasts) referred to in that scripture.
