aug 20, 1859 - phonautograph: Edouard-Lean Scott
Description:
In 1859 Scott accidently invented recorded sound with the phonautograph, he didn’t want to be able to play it back, and he was actually just looking for a way to get a visual representation of audio. It was a large horn that connected to a needle that then scratched the vibrations of sound into a cylinder.
