sep 3, 1605 - Smallpox

Description:

*Smallpox was the worst thing brought over by the Europeans in the Columbian Exchange.* There were many other diseases brought over but smallpox was the biggest. Most of the deaths caused by the Europeans to the natives of the New World were caused by disease, smallpox in particular. *Smallpox made the population of the Natives dwindle, which meant that the European oppression of the Natives was much easier, and the Natives had to succumb to the power of the Europeans.* Key Concept 1.2, II.
