(1713): An edict issued by Charles VI to ensure that his daughter could be the heir to the throne of the Holy Roman Empire, as he knew he was dying, he wanted to continue the Habsburg dynasty. This effected Europe because other countries did not like this idea, leading to wars between them and Maria Theresa of Austria.
