jan 2, 1555 - Peace of Augsburg
Description:
(1555): The Peace of Augsburg was a settlement within the Holy Roman Empire that allowed each prince to decide the religion of his own territory, this includes the religion of all the people in that area, and happened due to the increase in Lutheranism and Calvinism and conflict between those religions and Catholics, known as the Reformation. This effected the Holy Roman Empire and the surrounding countries by spreading much of the chaos, and many treaties after that are similar to the Peace of Augsburg like the Treaty of Westphalia.
