There was a great amount of debt amongst the former soldiers in the Revolutionary War. The soldiers were supposed to also pay taxes but never got their payments. There was a series of attacks on courthouses throughout America because the people demanded their payments. Shays' Rebellion was significant BECAUSE it ended up cutting down taxes placed amongst the American people,
