Description:
Within the Mighal Empire, Jesuits made missionary efforts, especially those from Portugal. Portuguese Goa became the center for missionary work in India, and missionaries hoped to convert the emperor and much of India. However, the emperor rejected, feeling the religion would alienate his subjects, thus their hopes were dashed.
