Description:

Philosophy- "The Love of Wisdom" reached its height with three of the greatest philosophers.
Socrates (ca. 470-399 B.C.) sought truths about broad concepts: truth, justice, and virtue. He thought the best way to learn was to ask questions.
Plato (ca. 428-348 B.C.) thought that the best government leaders would be philosopher kings. Plato believed that every material object was an imperfect reflection of a perfect ideal. Plato also fount the academy--school for learning philosophy.
Aristotle (348-322 B.C.) used logic and reason to study the natural world. He believed the greatest good that people could do was to think rationally -- deductive and inductive reasoning.

Philosophy is important because all of the things/concept the 3 different philosophers taught/used, are still taught /used today. Also, Philosophy was one of Greeks great achievements.
