Description:
Spanish forces were enrolled in the Philippines starting in 1565. No central government was established, so local authorities were easliy conquered by Spaniard intimidation. By 1575, the Spanish extended their authority throughout most of the islands. The islands came into officlal Spanish establishment, named after the king of Spain at the time; King Phiip II.
