The Great Stand on the Ugra River was a standoff between Mongol and Moscow forces that ended in Mongol retreat without conflict. This standoff was seen as a victory by the Moscovites and the event that ended Mongol dominance over Russia. This event eventually led to the final destruction of the Golden Horde in 1502 by Crimea later leading to numerous Russo-Crimean wars.
