The Society of Jesus was a sort of branch that took part in Catholic Reformation. Their role was missionary like in the fact that they would council people and persuade and direect them to the church. The members were required to recieve an extensive education in theology, philosophy, literature, history, and science for the purpose of outsmarting competetors and persuadeing others while representing the Roman Catholic church.
