Description:
Fanni Kaplan, a member of the Socialist Revolutionaries, attempts to assassinate Vladimir Lenin while he was leaving the Hammer and Sickle factory in south Moscow. As he was getting into his car, she called his name and he turned around. She fired three shots. One went through his coat, the second punctured his lung, and the last was lodged in his shoulder. Lenin never fully recovered and it is thought that this attack contributed to his death in 1924.
