Final defeat of Napoleon, ending over 20 years of war between France and other European countries/states. Napoleon marched toward Paris with troops of support after being exiled to an island in 1814, the actual battle took place in Mont St Jean, near Waterloo, Belgium. Napoleon’s defeat at this battle marked the ending of the Napoleonic Wars.
