feb 4, 1945 - Yalta Conference

Description:

Meeting between the 3 main ally leaders: Stalin, FDR, and Churchill. The conference was held in the Soviet Union, to make plans for the post war world. At this time in the war, German defeat was inevitable. FDR and Churchill pushed for democratic ideals (Stalin would ignore). FDR specifically pushed for self-determination. This led to the Declaration of Liberated Europe which embraced democratic ideals as it stated that all nations under German conrtol would have a democratic governemnt. Lastly, it the creation of the UN and UN veto power for the five big powers was institued.
