On Sunday the 27th of May 1967, it was made legal for Indigenous Australians to vote. It was decided in a referendum set up by Harold Holt (17th Prime Minister of Australia). The result of this referendum, being the biggest amount of people EVER to agree in a referendum, with 90.77% voting yes.
