Police responded to reports of an aggravated assault, in which a woman claimed to have been stabbed by Matthew Adam Miller. Upon the officers' arrival, Miller fled the scene armed with a knife. He was located by police in the rear of a home on Westwood Drive and confronted by an officer who shot and killed him. Details as to what precipitated the killing were withheld by police.
