In May of 1848 The United States Petitioned for Palestine to be a Israel and Arab state. Unfortunately for the US, the Arabs rejected the petition. Just a year later, Israel was officially declared an independent state. This was the first Jewish state in 2000 years. Ben Gurion became Isreal's first prime minister.Added to timeline:
