jul 24, 1969 - Apollo 11 Astronauts walk on the Moon
Description:
On the 24th of July 1969, the Apollo 11 mission arrived on the moon. The Apollo 11 mission was a mission that was to get from the Earth to the Moon, land on it and come back to Earth. The Apollo 11 mission was the first time a human set foot on the moon. The people in the spacecraft called the Columbia were three astronauts- Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Neil Armstrong was the first astronaut/human to ever set foot on the moon. When he stepped foot on the moon he said and I quote, "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."
Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were in the first astronauts to land on the moon. They were in the spacecraft called The Eagle that went from Earth to the moon. They landed on the moon and this was the first time in history that something like this happened. There has been past missions that hadn't succeeded but this had.
It changed Australia because we got to see this wonderful experience and we got to experience the first time someone has ever set foot on the moon.
