Blood, dead men everywhere, people helping out as much as they could. This is the description of World War I. The Great War began in 1914, and ended in 1918. The war was against the 'Allies' (Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan and the United States and Australia) and the 'Central Powers' (Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire). After battling for years, it ended with the defeat of the Central Powers. Only after 14 years of Australia united, they had to go to war. It wasn't long until World War II started!
