On May 14th, of 1948. Israel was declared an independent state by David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency. This was a process which had been in the making for centuries. The land of Israel, and Jerusalem especially, had been fought over in many wars, and seen many rulers.The creation of the state, is embodied in their declaration of independence. Which is called "Declaration of the Establishment of the State of Israel."
