On June the 12th, 1902, women were given the right to vote and stand for parliament. This excluded Indigenous Australians, Africans, Asians, or a Pacific Islanders. Australia was the first country in the world to let women vote. It came after New Zealand who was the first nation to let women vote.Added to timeline:
