replacing the Juvenile Delinquents Act
Description:
The act was created to fix the shortcomings of the Juvenile Delinquents Act. The act made a larger distinction between adult and youth offenders. It makes a gentler approach to sentencing youth but also makes them more accountable. It gave young offenders more rights when arrested, created more options for sentencing and raised the minimum age of conviction to 12 years old. and the maximum became 17 years old.
