jan 1, 1130 - Olivier I le Senechal
Description:
III. DEGREE.
“Monsour OLIVIER I the Seneschal, by name, Knight, that a Henri of QUESNEQUEN, Knight, gave in January of the year 1259 as surety to Monsour Alan VI, Viscount of ROHAN, by name, Knight, from whom he borrowed a sum of 300 pounds; And that in 1262, the Abbey & the Monks of Bonrepos having made with a named Rivallon a transaction of which Olivier the Seneschal Sire Feudal Seneschal of Rohan was witness, at their prayer & request he sealed this act with his Seal, where although half broken up, five Macles were still to be seen.”
In 1258, either during the time of Olivier the Seneschal, or under his brother Alan, an Inquiry was made about Seneschallie which should not be omitted here because it provides all the information that could have desired on the useful rights attached to the Charge.
