jan 20, 1788 - The First Fleet arrived

When the first fleet arrived Australia was told about everywhere. At the time it was called New Holland. Indigenous Australians had inhabited across Australia, but soon this was to be much less. They had been there for 60,000 years, but Captain Cook didn't think so, he believed he was the first discoverer.

The first fleet contained convicts. These convicts were abandoned here and were left to settle in to areas. However they cut down trees, ruined the landscape and found many aboriginal people's camps.

So what happened to the Aboriginal people? They roamed about freely and had fun for a bit, but it didn't last. People treated them cruely and they were seen as flora and fauna.
