Julia Gillard was born in Barry Wales, September 29th 1961, her family then moved to Australia in 1966 when Julia was only 5 And she was raised there in Adelaide. Julia began her studies in arts and law at the University of Adelaide; Then to great surprise in 1983, she has elected the role of Vice President of the Australian Union of Students (AUS). After continuing to study hard and learn more about politics she was elected the President of AUS. After finishing her law degree in Melbourne she began working for the industrial law firm. While working there, Julia switched her goals to that of a career in federal politics.

In 1998 til 2001, she served on a number of committees which included of, the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Employment, Education and Workplace Relations. Then in 2001, she was arranged Shadow Minister for Population and Immigration, continuing her roles in 2003, she decided to take on the great responsibility of the Reconciliation and Indigenous Affairs Committee. On December 4th, 2006 she was appointed the Deputy Leader of the Australian Labour Party then assumed the role of shadow minister for Employment and Industrial Relations and Social Inclusion. When the labour party came out on top in the 2007 election Julia became the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education, Employment and Workplace Relations and Social Inclusion. Then on June 24th, 2010 and September 14th, Julia Gillard was elected the role of the first female Prime Minister of Australia which was celebrated all around Australia showing younger girls I sign of hope for the future for woman rights and equality.
