World War II, also known as the Second World War, was a conflict that involved a good variety of parts all around the world during the period 1939-1945. The main belligerents were the Axis powers which were Germany, Italy, and Japan and their Allies France, Great Britain, the United States, the Soviet Union, and, to a lesser extent, China. The war was in connection to the continuation, after an uneasy 20-year hiatus, of the disputes, left unsettled by World War I. The 40,000,000–50,000,000 deaths incurred in World War II make it the most deadly conflict, as well as the largest war ever, in history.

During The War Australian civilians did not suffer as much as many other populations did during World War ll, but the very big impact on our civilisations homes was very significant. The great bombing of Darwin in 1942 was the first attack on The Australian soil. Production and available workforce expanded expediently, and many of those sacrificed their likes on the home front to maintain Australia's war effort overseas. To This day lots of Australians remember the months and those who sacrificed them for the country and the mass damage to this day Australia is scarred by the memories.
